we decided to take the spring meatloaf sandwich out for an afternoon of sailing.we cleared ventura harbor at 12:30 P.M. in dense fog and wind 5-7 knots WSW. 30 minutes out the fog lifted to warm blue and slightly hazy, and the wind filled in to 14-16 knots. we broke out the meatloaf, red pepper ketchup, sharp cheddar, marinated red onion, country roll at 1:45 P.M wind around 16 knots. SOG 6.1 knots, and the sandwich preformed beautifully. tacked the boat onto a beam reach, boat speed up to 7.2 knots, a couple of cold beers, pod of dolphins. a good day, not too hot, not too cold, not too windy, not too calm.
